Farewell to “JOBS”…Are You Ready To Market Yourself?
Do you believe that our entire economic job market is changing?
And there is good reason to recognize the reality and consider your options of how you could market yourself. The article below gives an excellent assessment of the current employment opportunity situation in the U.S. with both a short and long-term view. For those ready to face today’s real situation and the facts that there are no signs of it changing at least for the next three years, I am sharing many solutions with you in these posts that could be vital to your well-being, both now and in the future.
On 8/4 I posted “Blogging For My Readers” which is a sincere request for feedback from any of the 500 or so readers that visit this blog every day, thank you again, and look at an average 9 pages each, and stay an average of more than 20 minutes each…these are averages of course and not by everyone. As I state in the post above, I need to understand who my readers are, what you like to read, what you don’t like to read, what you want to read more about, and hopefully to begin some kind of dialogue with you that can benefit us all. A ship without a rudder will not get me where I want this Blog to go.
For this reason, I sincerely ask you to stop and say something in the “Leave A Reply” box at the bottom of the page. Even if you say any of the following…”I like the blog, I don’t like the blog, I just come here to kill time, I am too shy to say anything, my opinion does not count, why don’t you write about xxx, you have too many advertisements, it takes too long to read your posts, you have too many posts, you don’t have enough posts, this information is not important to me”… any constructive comment that you leave for me will be appreciated. I truly believe that very nice, interested people come here and read this blog and posts…and I am asking you to make the effort a 2-way street…if you like what you read great…and if not let me know please. I am not sure how else to ask you to give me your feedback…other than to say…call me on 407-951-7132 or email me on dannorris42@gmail.com.

As traditional jobs fade, be ready to market yourself
By Dave Maney, an entrepreneur and former journalist
Given all the attention it’s getting in Washington, D.C., millions of Americans are no doubt wondering when our economy’s job-creation machine will crank up again. Brace yourself: It isn’t likely to happen — not in the way it worked before. In fact, the economic laws that undergird the system of jobs and employment as we have known them are wobbling from the torrents of information flowing through businesses from the Internet and related information processing technologies. We’re experiencing a Great Scouring Out, as we move through a painful streamlining and restructuring of our entire economy. Sounds awful, doesn’t it? But it’s not, at least in the long term. The demand for work isn’t going away, even though millions of jobs have. The economy, more efficient than ever, will catch the wind again, providing well- equipped Americans with bountiful opportunities to make a good living.
