Many Small Businesses Choose to Go Without an Attorney

- Ann Dwyer

A nationwide study we commissioned shows a majority of America’s smallest businesses – those with 250 employees or less – go at it alone when it comes to dealing with legal issues that impact their business.  From debt collection, to contract disputes, to regulatory interpretations and employee issues, small business owners increasingly make critical decisions that could affect the success of their business without the benefit of advice or counsel from an attorney. Important Tips For More Financial Independence

Road To Financial Independence
Financial Independence
  • Do you have your own business now?

  • Are you thinking of starting a business soon?

  • Do you need to find a solid business opportunity?

  • Would you like to protect yourself against legal risks?

  • Would you like  to protect yourself against Identity Theft?

  • Do you believe that a good Marketing Strategy can help your business grow?

If you say yes to any of the above questions…here are some great

“Important Tips For More Financial Independence”

Here are some straightforward answers to the above questions.

  • For the  first question, “Do You Have Your  Own Business Now”?, in case you don’t want  a business…just move to the fourth question down as that may apply to you. If your answer is yes to this question then I have more questions for you…1) are you satisfied with the growth and  profitability of  your business? 2) are you using legal and consulting advice to assist you and is  it costing you over $1,000 per year? 3) and if your business could benefit from lower costs and greater professional legal advice then just fill out the “Request For Free 30 Minute Consultation Form” on the right column and I will contact you  promptly.  I also recommend that you read another Post on  this blog……and there are more relavent Posts here under the Small Business Tab at the top of  the page.
  • For the second and third questions if your answer is yes, just fill out the “Request For Free 30 Minute Consultation Form” on the right column and I will contact you  promptly. You also may be interested in reading Posts under the Business Opportunity Tab at the top of the page.
  • For the question “Would  You Like To Protect Yourself Against Legal Risks”?… only those who  have this totally covered can honestly say no…and the remaining 80-90% of the U.S. and Canadian population need to say yes. I call upon all responsible people to take a look at these two sites and make a decision in your best interests. You can begin  on-going coverage today for $17 or $26 per month. Please watch this… You also may be interested in reading Posts under the Legal Plan Tab at the top of the page.
  • For the question “Would you like  to protect yourself against Identity Theft?…anyone who says no and does not have “economical” protection obviously has their head in sand. As a conscious citizen you  must have heard or read that Identity Theft has been the  greatest Consumer  Crime for the last 12 years, and is more costly than illicit drug  crimes. In 2012 we had over 12 million people who suffered through the results of this crime. It cannot be  stopped…only the results can be corrected! Again I call upon all  responsible people to take  a look at these two  sites and make a decision  in your best interests. You can begin on-going coverage today for $9.95/$12.95 or $19.95/24.95 per  month. The first figures are with a Legal Plan and the second are standalone. I recommend that  you watch this video at… .You also may be interested in reading Posts under the Identity Theft Tab at the top of the page.
  • For the question “Do you believe that a good Marketing Strategy can help your business grow?”…I recommend that you read these two brief articles by industry leaders in Attraction Marketing, Ann Sieg, and Blogging,  Ty Tribble (#1 Blogger). I encourage you also to fill out the “Request For Free 30 Minute Consultation Form” on the right column and I will contact you  promptly. Concerned About the Welfare of Our People and Our Country

Protect Our Country7th MRA

Are you concerned about the welfare of our people and our country?

Anyone that knows me is very much aware that I love this country very much…as well as the wonderful people that populate the United States of America.

In a time when the “Military Draft” was in effect I volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army and served my two year commitment as a patriot.  My sacrifice was very minimum compared to that of many soldiers that I see returning from service…having lost several limbs and in some cases their ability to function as normal human beings for the rest of their lives.

And as I think about this tragedy then I hear about some 500,000 to 900,000 returning wounded soldiers who have had pending medical claims  for months and years which are overdue in processing by the Veterans Administration.  This gets very little media publicity and government attention towards resolution. This week the Army announced that the Walter Reed Army Hospital Warrior Cafeteria would be closed on certain hours and days which would require amputees to negotiate wheelchairs approximately 1/2 mile to receive any kind of food day or night, much less the same food as they enjoy today. Fortunately, due to public outcry the Army reversed this decision on the same day. Then we have the terrorist shooting massacre under trial classified as a workplace event. Due to this government decision, the victims are not entitled to receive hospitalization, care and other benefits they would receive if the event were classified as it really is…an event of war.  When we add the tragedy of Benghazi to this list, it seems that we have a total transformation of our military happening before our eyes. The leadership of our county have the opportunity to correct all of these mistakes.

It is for reasons of loving this country and being very concerned about the real status of at least 50-60 million people who are suffering financially, job-wise, emotionally and in many other ways now…that I feel that I must speak out and express my concerns and recommendations for improvement very clearly. I am a “conservative” politically…I believe in living according to the Constitution, with minimum government and minimum federal spending, effective and legitimate social programs, a balanced budget, and protection of our country from foreign invasion….as well as from internal invasion. Many of our countries societal principles have been destroyed for a variety of reasons and our country’s future is being gradually destroyed by many special interest groups.

Since I choose not to discuss these political views on this news publication, I elected this week to introduce my second publication called “The Conservative” which you can find at I invite you to visit me there and participate with me if that is your choice. If not, then I respect your rights to your opinion not to do so. My position is that every day I watch on TV and listen on the radio to many points of view.  By so doing I feel that I have an understanding of many sides of an issue and why people think the way that they do. I invite you to read my point of view and enter into constructive conversation if you choose.

With this information I again invite you to join me on “The Conservative” at I enjoy this “Dan Norris Blog” very much and will continue to post frequently. Again I encourage you to leave me messages on the “Leave A Reply” section below. If you enjoy any of this material please let me hear from you.

I invite you to come visit my new publication…“The Conservative”

Are You Ready For An IRS Audit? Protect Yourself!

IRS Audit

IRS Tax Audit

We have admissions during Senate Investigations this summer that specific political organizations and individuals have been targeted by the IRS for delaying or stopping the approval of organizing a 501 C4 organization. Key members of the IRS have pleaded the 5th Amendment in order to avoid revealing the truth. At present, Congressional Hearings have learned that the top legal IRS official is part of these efforts. Investigations are on-going with much pushback from the Administration. Given these facts, and as a citizen without or with a business, do you feel more or less at risk for an audit by the IRS? If you are identified for an audit, will you represent yourself or will you have professional legal and cpa’s represent you or will you do it yourself? This information is provided to allow you to prepare for what we hope never happens to you…

Are You Ready For An IRS Audit? Protect Yourself!

Probably the most dreaded event in the financial life of a U.S. taxpayer is when the IRS notifies you that you are to be audited!

And the reasons for this event being so dreaded is the fact that you will have a very strong chance of  being in worse shape than you were before the audit in many ways…emotionally, financially, time-wise and maybe you wind up with a pay-off period lasting several years. There is very limited opportunity that you will be more pleased than you were before the audit.

It will definitely cost you time for preparation for the audit just to complete the process. You will in all likelihood experience anxiety and be very concerned about where the results of the audit will lead. You may elect to have a tax attorney or your tax preparer represent you in the process and you will need to fork over money to get this done. These professionals cost in the range of $300 per hour and running up a $15,000 bill with 50 hours of counsel is not unusual.

Then you will need to set aside the necessary time to accomplish the audit…and we both know that you could be doing other things more constructive…like growing your business instead of spending money talking about why things cost you so much. Don’t get me wrong…in some cases an IRS audit may be justified. It is just the fact that the scales are tilted totally in favor of the government and this is very intimidating.

The IRS is armed with many thousands of pages of federal tax law,  has unlimited resources to interpret the outcome of such an audit, and in many cases of governmental authority,  raise questions as to the fairness and objectivity of their actions. We currently face major concerns in this country over how the new healthcare  law will be enforced. At present, several thousand additional IRS agents are to be hired to accomplish this task. And of course this raises the issues of the Constitutional Rights to the privacy of citizens personal data. These are all very important subjects to consider.

Tax Audit Horror Stories: When the IRS Attacks

Joan Smith, 52, a Philadelphia-based artist, was preparing to go in for spinal surgery in 2010 when the IRS put a $10,000 tax lien on her bank account — which was more money than she had in the bank. It turns out she’d never received an audit memo that had been sent to her old address. She spent the next 11 months digging out from the paperwork avalanche that comes with a full audit.

So you may be thinking ….what if I receive a Notice of IRS Audit…what should I do to prepare now before that awful event could ever happen?

It would be a very smart decision for you to read the paragraph below and investigate what you can do now to protect yourself…at very affordable costs. It would also be a smart decision to talk with your tax preparer to ask their recommendations.

Study in 2006 Shows 21% Rely Upon Lottery Tickets As Retirement Plan

Better Than Lottery Tickets

Retirement Plan

On 8/9/2013 I published a post with the title…

Does Your Financial Plan Rely Upon Buying Lottery Tickets?

I was very pleased and also surprised to receive a response from Jerry Kalish, President of National Benefit Services, Inc., a Chicago-based retirement plan consulting, actuarial, and administration firm that helps employers get their retirement plans from where they are now to where they need to be. The firm’s clients include U.S. employers and multi-national employers with U.S. operations.

A Small Business Advantage - LegalShield

By Jerry Kalish

Actually, a surprising large number of people believe that the most effective wealth building strategy is winning the lottery which I reported on in my 2006 blog post, .

A 2006 survey of about 1,000 Americans by Opinion Research Corporation conducted for the Consumer Federation of America and the Financial Planning Association found that one in five Americans (21%) survey thought playing the lottery was their most practical strategy for accumulating several hundred thousand dollars. Read more:

As I read the results of this study it causes me to think and ask…are people relying upon buying lottery tickets  for their financial plan because…

  •      They actually think this is a good option?
  •      They have never been informed about developing a plan for retirement?
  •      If they could see the value of having a retirement plan would they do it?
  •      Have they just given up on developing a retirement plan for many reasons?

In any case 21% or more than 42 million people are gambling by throwing good money at bad opportunity. If the odds are 15 million to 1 to be able to win the lottery…you would need to play the lottery a lot in order to have decent odds…this is just gambling…not a plan at all…  and it is true that if you use money to buy lottery tickets that money can’t go to your retirement savings plan.

So How Much Cash Reserve Do You Need For An Emergency or Opportunity?

Liquid Reserves

How Much Needed?

As the first post in a series of several financial recommendations…

So How Much Cash Reserve Do You Need For An Emergency or Opportunity?

In personal finance, cash reserves are primarily short-term, highly liquid investments that earn a low rate of return that individuals want to have quick access to…for purposes of  meeting short-term, emergency or opportunity funding needs. We will discuss how much is recommended, how to create your cash reserve, where it should be kept and why it is so very important to your financial well-being!

Ameriprise Financial

Refine your cash strategy

In times of crisis, you don’t want to be shaking pennies out of a piggy bank. Having a financial safety net in place can ensure that you’re protected when a financial emergency arises. One way to accomplish this is by setting up a cash reserve, a pool of readily available funds that can help you meet emergency or highly urgent short-term needs. Read more…

Importance of Cash Reserves

James Kenney YouTube

In my humble opinion, Cash Reserves are the cornerstone of the process of effective comprehensive financial planning. In order to know how much money you should allocate on a consistent savings plan for your cash reserve, it is necessary that you develop a budget which includes all of your income,  expenses, payments, insurances, mortgage, fees…really everything that  represents money incoming and outgoing…and then you will know what you will need per month so as to then calculate how you can save for your cash reserve. If your net outgo is $4000 per month then in order to save a cash reserve equivalent to six  months of your living costs, then you will need a cash reserve of $24,000 to equal a six month cash reserve. Now that you know  how much you need you can make determinations as to where that money will need to come  from. A qualified financial advisor can be very helpful in achieving this.

Now I would like to again come back to my goal of establishing some good two way communications between you and I.  Recently I asked that you give me  some feedback in the “Leave A Reply” section at the bottom of the page. I continue that request however let me give you a survey to choose from about those things that you may or may not like so that I  can get an  idea of what you enjoy most. If you would please select from the list below one or more of the topics that you like to read about and type each into the  “Leave A Reply” box that would be very good…thank you in advance! Here are the topics….

Does Your Financial Plan Rely On Buying Lottery Tickets?

Social Hour In London

London’s Pubs

Today’s post is on one of my favorite topics…

Does Your Financial Plan Rely On Buying Lottery Tickets?

Most everyone that I know nowadays is saying…I wish I had more money to manage…however where there is a will there is a way…and many are saying… I am making great progress every day towards my goal of financial independence…that time when I am in total control of my time and my lifestyle…and I have no financial concerns ever for the future other than properly managing my wealth.

Yesterday we saw the Minnesota gentleman Paul White who won the $86 Million (before taxes) as his third of the Powerball Jackpot…he kidded about a family gathering recently where he was identified as the one most likely to rely upon winning the lottery as being “his financial plan”. This gentleman and his family and friends (see video below) are one lucky group as the odds for winning a 6-ball Powerball Lottery are in the range of 1 in 15 million. If you like these odds to plan your future then go for it…and I wish you luck. I prefer to rely upon the philosophy of hard work, committed to goals, never give up approach to achieving lifelong dreams approach…how about you?

And that opens dialogue on my next post for a series of pragmatic, practical recommendation steps that can be very valuable in helping you to reach your goals. I am going to give these suggestions as steps on  “The Road To Financial Independence” that I have found to be really important. I am speaking as a layman, with a lot of personal and professional experience, to share with you financial experiences so that you can proceed to the next level of learning and professional assistance whenever your situation justifies that you do so.

At the outset I want to make it clear that I truly support and recommend professional “comprehensive financial planning” for anyone that wants to improve themselves financially. By professional “comprehensive financial planning” I mean with those financial advisors who are truly qualified and act in the best interests of their clients. At the same time I am very reluctant to recommend everyone who calls themselves a “financial advisor” or “investment advisor”. These terms are so misused and vague that to me it does not have real meaning. My recommendations do not include those who just want to work with your investment assets like stocks, bonds, or commodity investments like gold and silver. Financial decisions affect all aspects of our lives and for a professional to give advice on financial matters to an individual I firmly believe that any recommendations should be based on information that includes a full understanding of the individual’s goals and risks owning the assets. Investment advisors certainly have a place in the financial advisory community however I do not include these individuals as clients in my target readers.

If you are committed to achieving financial independence for you and those that you love, if you haven’t already done so, I encourage you to research the subject of “comprehensive financial planning” and to meet with three or more advisors to make a selection of whom you would most prefer to partner with to receive professional financial advice and guidance. Let them recommend your best actions and approaches on all of your key financial issues. I believe very strongly in the value of benefitting from professional services and “comprehensive financial planning” by an experienced qualified financial advisor. They can help you grow, manage and protect your assets much better with their professional knowledge.

So with this introduction to the first in a series of several financial recommendations…I know that not everyone will go out tomorrow and select a financial advisor for comprehensive financial planning however I want you to get started on the process… beginning with some of the most important initial steps. The first step I will feature in my next post is one of the key subjects of a comprehensive financial plan…that of a “Cash Reserve”.

Farewell to “JOBS”… Are You Ready To Market Yourself?

Jobs Going Away

The topic of this post is…

Farewell to “JOBS”…Are You Ready To Market Yourself?

Do you believe that our entire economic job market is changing?

And there is good reason to recognize the reality and consider your options of how you could market yourself. The article below gives an excellent assessment of the current employment opportunity situation in the U.S. with both a short and long-term view. For those ready to face today’s real situation and the facts that there are no signs of it changing at least for the next three years, I am sharing many solutions with you in these posts that could be vital to your well-being, both now and in the future.

On 8/4 I posted “Blogging For My Readers” which is a sincere request for feedback from any of the 500 or so readers that visit this blog every day, thank you again, and look at an average 9 pages each, and stay an average of more than 20 minutes each…these are averages of course and not by everyone. As I state in the post above, I need to understand who my readers are, what you like to read, what you don’t like to read, what you want to read more about, and hopefully to begin some kind of dialogue with you that can benefit us all. A ship without a rudder will not get me where I want this Blog to go.

For this reason, I sincerely ask you to stop and say something in the “Leave A Reply” box at the bottom of the page. Even if you say any of the following…”I like the blog, I don’t like the blog, I just come here to kill time, I am too shy to say anything, my opinion does not count, why don’t you write about xxx, you have too many advertisements, it takes too long to read your posts, you have too many posts, you don’t have enough posts, this information is not important to me”… any constructive comment that you leave for me will be appreciated. I truly believe that very nice, interested people come here and read this blog and posts…and I am asking you to make the effort a 2-way street…if you like what you read great…and if not let me know please. I am not sure how else to ask you to give me your feedback…other than to say…call me on 407-951-7132 or email me on

As traditional jobs fade, be ready to market yourself

By Dave Maney, an entrepreneur and former journalist

Given all the attention it’s getting in Washington, D.C., millions of Americans are no doubt wondering when our economy’s job-creation machine will crank up again. Brace yourself: It isn’t likely to happen — not in the way it worked before. In fact, the economic laws that undergird the system of jobs and employment as we have known them are wobbling from the torrents of information flowing through businesses from the Internet and related information processing technologies. We’re experiencing a Great Scouring Out, as we move through a painful streamlining and restructuring of our entire economy. Sounds awful, doesn’t it? But it’s not, at least in the long term. The demand for work isn’t going away, even though millions of jobs have. The economy, more efficient than ever, will catch the wind again, providing well- equipped Americans with bountiful opportunities to make a good living.

Why Legal Plans For Commercial Truck Drivers?

Why Legal Plans For Commercial Truck Drivers?
Commercial Truck Drivers Provide To Us the Goods and Services Which Are The Lifeblood of Our Country!

U.S. Department Of Transportation. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

U.S. Department Of Transportation. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Why Legal Plans For Commercial Truck Drivers? Due to the fact that commercial truck drivers are on the highway throughout their working day, they are subject to many times more laws and risks than the average citizen.

These risks can be described at a minimum as traffic accident risks, personal injury risks, property damage risks, tragic accident risks, legal liability risks, risks of life, loss of employment risks, loss of assets in the form of home and investment risks, family risks, and your freedom from incarceration plus others. These risks are substantial and represent essentially your total welfare as a commercial truck driver.

How do drivers reduce and minimize these risks? Many answers are important… good health habits, good driving habits, adequate rest, following sound safety and driving rules, plus a very important asset that not enough drivers and companies pay attention to…and that is the 24/7 available services of an affordable, experienced, competent transportation attorney available to you everywhere that you drive.

How easy is it for a driver to show up in court some 2000 miles away from home? Not very! But a local experienced attorney that knows the local judges and law officers can be extremely valuable. In some cases the driver’s company may provide an attorney to represent their drivers, however in many cases the driver is responsible for his own actions, whether trivial or traumatic. The services of an attorney throughout the country,  experienced in the commercial trucking industry, is an extremely important asset to a truck driver and to their companies.

These plans are available for the individual, family, and discounted for groups of five or more members within a company. This article is to emphasize the importance to drivers and to commercial driving companies of having affordable legal services in the form of proven legal plans for each driver. By offering drivers the opportunity to obtain good legal plans that protect them on the road,  it makes the driving profession more attractive and less risky. Driver shortage is caused in some part by the amount of risks that a driver assumes by following a driving profession. Reducing risk can have a positive impact on driver satisfaction.  Companies concerned about driver safety and welfare are equally concerned about protecting drivers from getting caught up in a legal maze and a web of government regulations. This article will provide you with a link to obtain full description, costs and how to obtain memberships today with a leading company that has provided affordable legal plans for 40 years, LegalShield.       ————————————————————————————————————————- Reprinted From The Trucker- Attorneys Can Save Drivers from getting lost in tangled legal maze ——————————————————————————————— ———-

Legal Issues - Why Not Seek Attorneys For Help?

Solve Your Legal Issues…Legal Issues

This post focuses on Legal Issues - Why Not Seek Attorneys For Help?

New Study Shows Need, Demand for Legal Services By Working Americans and Families

Study Identifies Cost and Confusion as Barriers to Getting Needed Legal Help

57 Million Americans Have Legal Issues PR Newswire DALLAS, Nov. 27, 2012 DALLAS, Nov. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -

A new nationwide study released today by LegalShield shows that working Americans and their families face a broad array of legal issues daily but only infrequently seek out help due to the cost, confusion and hassle of dealing with the legal system. Even for serious legal events such as divorce, IRS audits, DWI/DUI arrests, real estate purchase, identity theft, or the death of a spouse without a will, an alarming number of Americans are forgoing the legal help they need to protect themselves and their families.

The survey shows 57 million of full-time working Americans experienced at least one significant legal event in the past 12 months, but only 60 percent of those who experienced such an event actually sought out the services of a lawyer to help them. The rest said they were “hesitant” or “dread” calling a lawyer because they are too hard to find, cost too much and are “difficult” and “intimidating” to work with. “Our research shows what we’ve known intuitively for a long time – many Americans don’t believe they can get the legal help they need to protect themselves and their families,” said Rip Mason, CEO of LegalShield. “Too many people believe they have to go at it alone and hope for the best when it comes to dealing with all but the most serious legal issues.

LegalShield is the only national legal safeguard to provide its members with access to quality legal services from an accomplished law firm in the U.S. and Canada for legal advice and assistance as much as they want no matter how trivial or serious the issue. For as low as $17 per month, LegalShield members get access to qualified attorneys who are experts in the areas of law that most impact families and small businesses. Founded in 1972 in Ada, Oklahoma, LegalShield has more than 1.4 million members and dedicated law firms in 49 states across the U.S. and four provinces in Canada. See full story:

Woman Chases Down Identity Thief - Good Morning America

Karen Karen Lodrick

Woman Chases Down Identity Thief - Good Morning America

When you invest a few minutes on the subject of an identity thief….which should be at the top of your priority list for you and those that you love…we can find some very interesting information. I found this incredible story recently about a young woman in San Francisco that recognized from bank videos the person in Starbucks that stole her identity…and then chased down her identity thief through the streets of San Francisco…no easy task…and called 911…asked a cab driver to stop because the woman was a thief…and the police came and arrested her…the victim showed incredible courage and determination to have this person arrested.  This brave and determined young woman victim is named Karen Lodrick…and you can begin to learn about her here…she is a heroic young woman!

Fortunately, the San Francisco media heard the story and it was reported on Good Morning America in the following film clip…

Karen Lodrick on Good Morning America

As you heard in the video, the thief received 43 days  in jail and 3 months probation…a trifling sentence for all the trauma that she put Karen through.  This is incredibly unfair to the victim…and it sends no message to the thief that if you do this you will be punished. Until we recognize the seriousness of and punish criminals for these kinds of crimes on our fellow man, then we will only see an increase in the activity.

Karen Lodrick has proceeded to become an advocate, teacher, and speaker about Identity Theft. Her life will never be the same since that event. And she is one of the few that at least caught the perpetrator. And because of our laws…there was minimum justice.

Once someone’s identity has been stolen, the preferable solution is restoration to the original status before the theft. This includes credit positions, positions with banks, drivers licenses, social security numbers, medicare records, medical records, and many agencies that have your data. Very few people are aware that preventing identity theft is virtually impossible.  Even more do not realize what courses of action must be taken once their identity has been stolen. Very few people realize that in order to restore your identity that it will take many hours and typically years of effort to contact all of the parties that have your identity data that may have been negatively impacted. Do you know in how many digital data bases your personal identity resides? And in what locations, companies, government agencies, hospitals, employers, stores, suppliers could your data be located?

LegalShield and Kroll Investigative Services Solutions

I sincerely recommend that you protect yourself for identity theft, including your children, and when you do so, be sure to look for an identity theft package that does not just mail you the do-it-yourself forms for you to correct the issues, but includes their own staff of licensed investigators using power of attorneys and working with very reputable provider attorney firms. This is quite different from you doing the work and requesting reimbursement after the work is completed. In many cases you will not qualify for reimbursement from an insurance policy that has exclusions. To protect  yourself and your loved ones, including your children,  with the LegalShield and Kroll Investigative Services Identity Theft Shield protective memberships you can sign up for and begin these memberships now by clicking on this site…

Have You Considered Working From Home?

Phillip Phillips - Home

Have You Considered Working From Home?

  • What are the benefits? What are the challenges and  disadvantages? Can you work from home and own your own business? Will my employer allow me to work from home? All are key questions that deserve careful consideration and evaluation!
  • With our new options of working from home either on a part-time basis or a full-time basis…you now have the choice of enjoying your family and loved ones more or working together with them from a home location. This is a great choice…as you can consider the comparative costs of traveling to and from work, the amount of time required to do so,  the important consideration of whom you want to spend your working time with, the relative efficiency of either working at an office, traveling, on the road or at your home.  All of these choices now allow us a new degree of freedom if we choose to exercise it.  For those who can utilize good work practices and work ethics, then potentially they can be much more efficient.
  • I will say that the freedom to work from home creates some challenges…like will you watch that favorite tv program or apply yourself to your work…will you set good work hours for yourself and keep them…it is very easy to be distracted with so many things that go on within your home. Personally I worked in several areas many years in large offices on scheduled hours, in my own personal offices, traveling the U.S. Monday through Friday calling on companies and using my motel as my  office, in one case I drove to and from work 50 miles each way and then traveled 13 states via airplane and automobile, and for the last few years I have elected to work from my home office. Of all of the experiences that I have had, I find that a home office is the most desirable for me…and I can pack my bags and take my home office across the country to any location in Florida, the U.S. or Canada…and accomplish what needs to be done effectively.  One of the greatest advantages to working from home for me is have access and be near those that I care the most about…that is the ones I love as well as my friends. When I spent most of my time each day at the office or on the road, I really missed the interaction with my loved ones. This is by far the greatest advantage that I hear from those who work from home.
  • Many people need the structure of going to an office to be with their other workers every day, or perhaps the work requires that they be present in order to accomplish what needs to be done. In any case, we now have an estimated 40 to 50 million people who are now working either part-time or full-time from home…or a traveling home at their choice. And given the economic environment and since the internet is only some 20 years old now, we are heading into a direction of many more people working from home…and using the internet and the phone as their telecommunications devices.

So studies have been completed to date comparing the pluses and minuses of where you work…there is yet to be grand comparison prepared about which is most efficient however some meaningful studies are emerging.

In summary, my opinions are that the option to work from home opens up many new opportunities and choices of where we want to work, and dependent upon your work requirements, your personal preferences for managing your own time, enjoying your freedom more, spending more time with your loved ones, all enter greatly into the equation of what you would like to do. I do strongly recommend that you consider all options available to you, and the underlying constraints of each. It is an important decision to make as you plan your career and I hope that you will give it ample and due consideration when the time comes.

Home Office vs. At the Office: Which Is More Efficient?

By Bruce Kennedy Posted 9:00AM  01/17/11

Call it telecommuting, telework or working from home: It appears more of us are earning at least part of our salaries from home, and with the boss’s blessings.

According to a survey by the human resources group WorldatWork, the number of Americans who work either from their homes or remotely at least one day a month rose by 74% between 2005 and 2008, to more than 17 million. And if you add to that figure the so-called “contract telecommuters” — folks who are self-employed or run their own businesses — the number jumps to nearly 34 million people.

Get Ahead! Why Limit Your Income?

US Small Businessman Of Year Award

US Small Businessman Of Year Award

The topic of this post is how to…

“Get Ahead!” Why Limit Your Income?

Most Americans have been trained to think in terms of how much they can earn in a year, a month, a week or an hour! Think about it, when you begin placing yourself on the market for employment you must decide what you are worth to your employer in order to get them to employ you. And of course the job that you will do has a price tag as well which could be the deciding factor, at least for the wage range.  Typically when you interview for a JOB you are faced with the decision…how much money can  I have  li left at the end of the month? Suppose you had no limitation to what you can earn and so therefore you work to create wealth for all your goals. Working for unlimited wealth is much more appealing to most of us than to a given wage by the hour, week, month or year.

If you look a a corporations very top levels of management, executives compensation is defined in terms of wealth usually in terms of hundreds or thousands or millions of dollars with incentive bonuses for exceeding certain goals stipulated in the hiring equation.

Have you ever said to yourself? ..I also am very smart and given the opportunity I would be worth millions! Wouldn’t it be a novel idea if you interviewed with an employer and they give you this question…How much wealth would you like to create with us during 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years or more, and by the way you would you like to legally Will your residual income to your family members including your grandchildren? Wouldn’t this be fantastic? Well, that is what you can say as you interview yourself for your own business. Tell yourself that there is no limit on the amount of income you can earn or the amount of ongoing residual income that you can leave to your heirs.

The obvious answer for many who choose to do so is to create wealth by starting or continuing your own business. It is a fact that multiple income streams, that is, earning money from several sources or business lines, is the most lucrative and safe way to create wealth. All businesses are not always successful forever so having your earnings system designed for several options is very smart…typically called multiple income streams.

So if you decide to get ahead in your own business, the question is how confident are you that you can be a good leader for your own company? You will be your own CEO…and that is a very important position for a company!

A person with ambition, drive, commitment, intelligence and vision can change their life with the right opportunity.  If you are interested in changing the direction of your life in terms of income, time and freedom then this information below is invaluable.

Consider A Plan For Personal and Small Business Risks

Personal and Small Business Risks

The topic today is on the subject of…

“Consider A Plan For Personal and Small Business Risks”

Do you or your family ever feel at risk about anything? You may be so fortunate that you are blessed with total “peace of mind”! Or maybe some risks concern you. If they do then the next question is do you think you should do anything to minimize those risks? This post suggests that you take a few minutes to reflect on major risk areas in your lives and decide if you should take any actions. As humans, we are much more concerned with fear than with any other emotion that we experience…so why not explore ways to address our fears?

  • Financial Budgeting and Cash Flow Risks… Includes meeting your financial obligations such as paying your mortgage and bills and having enough money to do all the things you want to do including having extra money for travel, college, vacation, retirement, second home and more!
  • Career risks… Are you satisfied with your career and future employment situation? Are your earnings needs being met? Look good for the future? Do you have a Plan B?  Could additional and multiple income streams benefit your lifestyle and degree of financial independence?
  • Disability Income Risks… In the event of accident or long-term illness do you have protection for these possibilities?
  • Personal Legal Risks… Includes those events that are subject to laws, actions by others who may want to file legal actions against you, by people who may not abide by the laws and adversely affect you, traffic violations, court representation and accidents,  which occur and may bring significant legal actions and consequences. What happens to you and your family in case of trivial or traumatic legal issues? Do you have any way to cover these costs? Do you know and trust good attorneys in all fields of law?
  • Identity Theft Risks… The risks associated with someone stealing your personal name and identity and using it or selling it to someone else, using your Social Security number and filing your tax return or using it for employment, your Drivers License number to avoid arrests or to gain the ability to drive, your checking account to gain access to your cash assets, and credit cards to purchase goods illegally. For (12) years now this has been the largest consumer complaint crime in the U.S. and some 30,000 new victims of identity theft wake up each morning to this very horrible event that many times takes professionals to access your private data and years to restore.
  • Medical Risks… Includes health issues whether caused by natural or accidental reasons. Most everyone would agree that if you do not have good health that all of your other aspects of life are very much in question. It is imperative that we maintain good health! Do you have good medical protection to protect you against depletion of your assets as well as adequate cash reserve and/or disability income insurance to sustain you through an extended period of time?
  • Home Ownership and Rental Risks… Includes those risks that occur in the event of fire, flood or personal activities on properties. Do you have insurance on your property, personal items, and personal injury, accident or lawsuit?
  • Automobile Risks… Includes risks of damage or destruction of property and injury to individuals. Do you have also have legal coverage to pay your family’s legal costs to represent you in the case of being charged with accidental homicide? Ask your agent if you have this legal representation? Rarely does an automobile policy include such coverage.
  • Small Business Ownership Risks… Includes thousands of issues involving legal contracts, reading and modifying contracts, legal advice and counsel, legal representation in case of suits,  legal costs, property costs, liability costs, healthcare costs and many others. See the study performed for Small Business at this site… Do You Have A Plan For Affordable Legal Services As A Small Business Owner?

Do you have a budget planned for each of these potential risk areas? Most of us have heard and may be protected for the several areas of risks mentioned above, however, 90% of the population are not really aware of how to protect themselves from legal risks, identity theft risks and small business legal and growth risks. Do you agree that there are risks in these areas of living? Do you think that it may be a good idea to protect yourselves for these risks?

Many millions of Americans now have these legal issues, and due to unaffordable costs, not knowing a qualified attorney, or not knowing what to do next, they just do nothing. It is my intention to inform you about solutions to solve these issues, at costs that you can afford, and to give you options of what to do next.

Small Business Owner - Reduce Legal Costs

At a time when small businesses are struggling to survive, here are several cost-cutting topics that may be beneficial to you…

The topic of this post is “Small Business Owner - Reduce Legal Costs”

Reduce Costs in Small Business

Real Estate Agents and Attorneys

Depending upon the nature of transactions, the State in which the transactions occur, real estate agents, attorneys and mortgage brokers are usually required to successfully review, negotiate, finance, file and complete real estate transactions. The real estate agent will provide significant expertise in informing and negotiating with the buyers or sellers of the real estate property. The degree to which an attorney is required will vary dependent on the above factors. As Real Estate Agents are the primary representatives of the buyers and sellers, it is their responsibility to resolve and successfully navigate through this complex process. It is by no means a simple process. Considerable education, training and sound judgement is required.

During the sales process a real estate agent faces a multitude of questions and legal risks. Many real estate agents want and need affordable and rapid access to qualified professional attorneys to help them successfully accomplish their transactions. Some agents have these legal services provided to them by their broker agency, while others have needs that are not being fulfilled as economically as agents would prefer.  As a real estate agent, would it be beneficial for you to have unlimited, same day access to highly qualified attorneys in all fields of law for less than $50 per month? And for those selling or buying on their own as well as many agents recommend that a buyer or seller have their own attorney in all transactions.

Social Change Brings New Risks-Legal Issues and Identity Theft

This post describes how “Social Change Brings New Risks”

As citizens in the U.S. we usually seek out our insurance professionals and financial planning professionals to recommend a program of personal risk management to us. Typically this program includes health insurance, life insurance, automobile insurance, home owners insurance, disability insurance, renter’s insurance, long term care insurance, flood insurance, umbrella insurance and perhaps a few others. Ironically, two of the best kept secrets in the U.S and Canadian societies is that two of our major personal risks that we currently face are for legal issues and for identity theft.

ID Theft Laptop

Identity Theft by Laptop

According to a recent study, some 57 million Americans had legal issues last year and only about 60% dealt with them using the services of an attorney. This means that some 22 million people did not deal with their legal issues using a professional attorney.

Next, many do not realize the fact that identity theft has been the largest FTC consumer theft complaint for 12 years, and now exceeds the costs to consumers of the illegal drug trade . Thieves have realized that identity theft is much easier and much less dangerous to accomplish. In 2011 more than 11 million people in our country were victims of identity theft…and each day some 30,000 people awake to learn their identity has been stolen.[/dropshadowbox]

Can you obtain legal services for less than one dollar per day?

This post is provided to help you to answer the question…

Can you obtain legal services for less than one dollar per day?

Would it be of any importance to you if you could? Do you think that it could ever be important to you even if not so now?

All American Family!

Let’s say that you are a typical, normal citizen of this country, living a life that normal citizens live, and that you have a wife and you are parents of a daughter age 14 and a son age 17. You live anywhere in the U.S., own your own home, and have found it necessary to search for employment in the last 3 years. At present you are employed and so is your partner, however at incomes decreased by $50,000 of what you were making three years ago. Due to the economy and job changes your income has been reduced as a result of those changes. These changes are causing significant concerns and problems in your personal lives and you need to find effective legal and financial solutions that you can afford. This scenario is quite typical for more than 50 million citizens in our country right now. Here are typical legal issues our citizens face…

  • Have you or do you know anyone that has needed the services of a law firm recently? This could be for any issue however let me give you some examples…for a mortgage foreclosure issue?  For a mortgage modification issue? Have you known anyone who has paid an attorney a $500 fee per month to keep their home out of foreclosure? Has anyone you know lost their home to foreclosure? Is the person still paying the $500 or thereabouts fee?
  • Do you know anyone who has debt and collection issues and needs the services of an attorney?    Do you know anyone who is facing bankruptcy? Do they need legal assistance?
  • Do you know anyone who has divorce issues or child care issues and needs the services of an attorney?
  • Have you made a purchase of a home, a car, entered into an apartment or condo rental agreement during the last few years and needed the services of an attorney to review these documents? Are you about to do so now?
  • Has anyone attempted to take advantage of you recently and you could have used the services of an attorney to avoid the consequences?
  • Have you or anyone in your family received a traffic violation ticket and needed assistance? Has your 17 year old child received a traffic violation and needed representation in court by an attorney? Will your insurance policy costs increase $50-$70 per month for several years as a result of these traffic violations if not resolved?
  • Have you been charged with a traffic violation, including vehicular homicide,  and need legal representation in court? Does your automobile insurance policy provide this protection?
  • Do you know anyone who has been a victim of identity theft? Do they have an effective solution to restore their identity?. What about their children? Children’s social security numbers collected at birth and used to age 18 provide tremendous buying and illegal identity power to thieves. Drivers license numbers and medical records numbers also are at major risks.
  • Did the IRS notify you recently that  they wanted to audit your income tax returns for a prior year?
  • Have you received a summons that someone intends to sue you on a civil matter? A business matter?
  • Do you have a Will, Living Will and Health Care Power of Attorney? Does your spouse or partner have these documents in place?

The reason that I ask you these questions is that many millions of Americans now have these legal issues, and due to unaffordable costs, not knowing a qualified attorney, or not knowing what to do next, they just do nothing.

I personally know individuals or have personally experienced all of these issues described above. To read about personal experiences of more individuals like myself and others that I know…click on this link…

Could legal services that cost you less than one dollar per day be helpful to you or to someone that you know that is going through similar circumstances?

Unfortunately millions of Americans are uninformed as to any available solutions. I was one of these until less than 2 year ago. Even my best, closest friends and my congressman did not know.

What Should I Do About My Career?

Could I Enjoy More Income?

What Should I Do About My Career?

This is about seeking a career that you love!

Positive Motivational Quotes About Work

Johnny Carson Never continue in a job you don’t enjoy. If you’re happy in what you’re doing, you’ll like yourself, you’ll have inner peace. And if you have that, along with physical health, you will have had more success than you could possibly have imagined.

Dale Carnegie Are you bored with life? Then throw yourself into some work you believe in with all you heart, live for it, die for it, and you will find happiness that you had thought could never be yours.

Bobby Unser Desire! That’s the one secret of every man’s career. Not education. Not being born with hidden talents. Desire.

Mark Twain Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.

Napoleon Hill When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal.

Brian Tracy Only undertake what you can do in an excellent fashion. There are no prizes for average performance.

Jack Welch We know where most of the creativity, the innovation, the stuff that drives productivity lies - in the minds of those closest to the work.

Harland Sanders You got to like your work. You have got to like what you are doing, you have got to be doing something worthwhile so you can like it - because it is worthwhile, that it makes a difference, don’t you see?

Napoleon Hill Everyone enjoys doing the kind of work for which he is best suited.

Earl Nightingale The biggest mistake that you can make is to believe that you are working for somebody else. Job security is gone. The driving force of a career must come from the individual. Remember: Jobs are owned by the company, you own your career!

Make a Choice

Your Choice To Be Happy

Ok now…you have just enjoyed the wisdom of some of the most respected leaders and motivators of our society! Are you  very happy in your employment today? ..The average “job” in the U.S. lasts 2.7 years…and as pointed out above by Earl Nightingale “Jobs are owned by the company, you own your career!”

Now I think it is a very fair question to ask…what are you going to do with the rest of your life when your current “job” terminates or you decide to change “jobs”?. Do you have a career that “you own and that you can rely upon for employment and income security”? I encourage you to consider your current enjoyment level with your employment and to consider adjustments that would lead to more job and career satisfaction!

I know of excellent solutions for you to consider both part-time and full time…not only to help you feel more secure, protected, capable of making better decisions and improving your life, however to also offer you income options with multiple streams of income for now and to two generations of your family.

7 Warning Signs That Say Consider A Career Change!

The topic of this post is..

“7 Warning Signs That Say Consider A Career Change!”

5+ Years of Security?

To determine if you face these warning signs ask yourself the following questions…

1.  Does your current career provide you with necessary income for all your needs…if you stayed in that position for at least the next five years?

         a.  Your basic living needs…your shelter, transportation, clothing, utilities, insurances?

         b.  Does it provide for your and your family’s educational, recreational and vacation needs?

         c.   Does it provide for savings for important purchases and retirement?

2.  Do you have confidence that your career will provide stability and income growth to satisfy all of  these needs during the next five years?

3. Are you happy in what you are doing in your career?    What would you prefer to do?

4. Do you feel confident that your career will be available to you 5 years from now?

If you feel good about your answers to the above questions I commend you strongly. Even so one needs to face the reality that the average length of time that a person remains in the same job is about 2.7 years.

Consistent Good Decisions On Your Goals

And here is the good news…No matter what your personal goals for your income, your career, your future financial status…you can accomplish in this society whatever you want to accomplish…you have heard this many times. I see the reality of accomplishment of whatever anyone wants every day. In my opinion the solution is to use your determination and intelligence to find the proper employment solutions (and I emphasize multiple income streams as solutions) for you that provides the income, time and personal freedom that you want to enjoy. Is there effort? Yes! Is it difficult to find those multiple income streams that can satisfy your needs? Yes. What is great for one person may be the absolutely wrong solution for another. I do not suggest that one solution fits all. I do suggest that if you employ the proper strategies and research your alternatives properly that you can find solutions that will provide for your life’s needs.

So What Options Should You Consider?

It is very challenging to be aware of all of the income producing opportunities that are available.  A person can invest more time and money than necessary in evaluating and participating in multiple opportunities to the extent that they invest a lot and earn very little. Many entrepreneurs wind up jumping from opportunity to opportunity because they did not take the time and talk with experienced people in business to discuss the questions they should ask before committing to a venture. Because of this very few people really make good incomes on the internet.

My information says that less than 3% of internet marketers truly make the incredible monthly incomes and up to 7% are just now reporting profitability. Does this alarm you? If it doesn’t it should. A word to the wise should be sufficient.

I firmly believe in multiple income streams which I call “income diversification”.  I do not want to rely upon one or two streams of income as I have found that no matter how good something may be, there are factors out of my control that can affect the performance of any income stream. So therefore I recommend building more than one income stream over time to avoid the risk of bad performance, the same as I recommended as a financial advisor to diversify your investments.

I offer you an option for a 30-minute discussion with you about your income opportunity decisions. Believe it or not, most of my life has been about helping other people achieve their goals…I have found that by doing this that I am rewarded multi-fold. Just fill out the form at the bottom of this page and we can talk at a mutually convenient time.

At present I have developed more than five income streams most with multiple income options. Since 1992 when I first became involved in the MLM and the direct selling industries, I have experienced a great deal that could be beneficial to someone in the income decision selection process. This discussion is no-charge…if I consider that I know of an option that may be suitable for you I would ask you to consider it.

There are many good opportunities for achieving personal success with businesses in the U.S.. Just for example, this is one of the best opportunities that I have found…

I invite you to contact me for any further information that you would like.

For Deanna Evertt - A Letter of Appreciation and Recommendation!

My topic today is a testimonial…For Deanna Evertt

This is “A Letter of Appreciation and Recommendation”!

Deanna lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and is a very experienced professional in the graphic design, advertising, copy, marketing publishing industry. Deanna is an active member of the Daily Marketing Coach organized by Ann Sieg, industry leader for Attraction Marketing including the Renegade Marketing Team and The Inner Circle.

Marketing Pro

Deanna Evertt

I invite you to visit Deanna Evertt’s  EverBetter Marketing website at

My reasons for giving this testimonial are directly related to a recent professional introduction to Deanna at the private Daily Marketing Coach Facebook Page. The scenario goes like this…Edwin Cabrera, also of the Daily Marketing Coach…and a personal mentor to me on my marketing system…recommended that I write a book on one of my key projects on which I have a great deal of passion. I began writing the book and designed the cover given the tools and experience I have as a early career mechanical designer. Enter Deanna Evertt…who saw my book cover design on The Daily Marketing Coach. For many years Deanna has designed book covers and book content for many brick and mortar companies. She is exceptionally talented in “book cover design” and all aspects of publishing a new book.

After seeing my initial book cover design on the DMC FB Page, Deanna contacted me proposing that we work together on the book project and that she would design a new book cover and help me to format the interior copy of the book to prepare it for the publishing process. We reached a working agreement at that time and in my enthusiasm I expected to complete and have the book published within two weeks. I had elected to self publish the book using Amazon and their self-publishing company CreateSpace. I had never written a book before, much less published one, so you can imagine how challenging this exercise turned out to be.

After completing the book and cover design for the first time and having it ready for submission to Amazon/CreateSpace for publishing, the approvals for some aspects of the book did not come through and as a result the book needed to be rewritten. I live in Orlando, Florida and Deanna lives in British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, and my mentor Edwin Cabrera lives in Manassas, Virginia. Even though the significant geographic separation of each of us we were able to jointly collaborate on the design of the book. I rewrote the book, Edwin gave his editor approval comments, and Deanna redesigned the cover as well as formatted, proofed and contributed to the interior pages…and within three weeks  the book has now been published for international distribution on 7/20/2013… on both CreateSpace which publishes paperback versions and Amazon Kindle KDP which provides the electronic E-Book versions. Interestingly there are different database criteria for each of these publications

I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to Deanna and Edwin for their major contributions on the creation, design and publication of my first book! This recommendation is intended to inform those interested in book design and publication that I highly recommend Deanna Evertt for any book that you may consider! She is highly professional, competent and talented. I will call upon her for any future book that I write and publish.

Further, Edwin Cabrera has been so very instrumental in guiding me up the ladder of personal development as a Marketing Trainer…and I am grateful to him as well!

Thank you very much Deanna!!!                     And Edwin!!!

They both received credit in the book foreword. And by the way, this book shares
