Would You Support This?

After devoting my post to “Tax Reform - Can It Be Done?” yesterday I was very pleased to visit Neal Boortz blog site today to find that Neal was up at 3:30 a.m. this morning writing the post below. I was among the millions of Americans who listened to Neal on his morning talk show for many years…and I for one miss he and his friends on that show tremendously. The day was brighter listening to this former attorney give us his very honest assessments of reality and humor.

To the point, it seems that many people are contacting Neal Boortz and asking him to take up the cause to do a great service for this country…that is…get “The Fair Tax” enacted now. The timing is right! And you can read Neal’s primary concerns in his blog post today. Neal plans to meet soon with John Linder, retired Congressman and co-author of two books with Neal on “The Fair Tax“.

The Fair Tax Book

I ask you to seriously consider how your personal support of getting “The Fair Tax” passed in this country could benefit you, your family, heirs, friends, and all citizens of America. This is a very simple to understand proposal…in fact you are already doing it everyday when you go to the grocery store. If you will invest a few minutes in reading about the overwhelming benefits that would accrue to our economy, our lifestyles and our freedom from political control, you will thank Neal and John for the rest of your lives…saying this was the greatest thing that ever happened to our country. To get started in your support I recommend that you join Neal’s Nuze and let he and John Linder know how you feel…clearly and often! I think this country’s citizens need a cause to unite them into one country rather than the current two…I believe this can be the motivation to bring us all together again…if we can just get the uninformed to stop for a minute and help improve themselves and their lifestyles as well.

God Bless America! Here is Neal’s blog post for today…

Pardon me while I rant for a while…with a purpose.

Leo Linbeck Jr. passed away last week.  Some of you know his name; most of you do not.  Considering the current news about the gross misuse of the IRS by the 0bama Administration, the name should be important to you.

It was Leo Linbeck, along with Bob Trotter and Robert McNeil, who pulled together about $22 million dollars to fund a study on how to reform our destructive tax system in the United States.  McNeil, the owner of the Houston Oilers NFL team, is the only surviving member of the group. These three should be remembered as true American heroes and patriots.

Linbeck and his friends hired accountants, economists, financial experts, political scientists and other experts in government and business to develop an alternative to our current tax system.  Researchers came from such prestigious institutions as Harvard and MIT.  Focus groups were formed to listen to the various plans being considered.  A member of one such focus group, after hearing the details of the tax reform plan being considered, said “now that’s a fair tax.”  The name was born, and The FairTax was introduced as a bill in congress by Georgia Congressman John Linder.

Never, in the entire history of the Congress of the United States, has any legislation been introduced backed by so much research — and that, by the way, includes ObamaCare.

Congressman Linder and I wrote “The FairTax Book” eight years ago in 2005.  It debuted No. 1 on the New York Times Bestseller’s List.  A book about TAXES … No. 1.  That shouldn’t happen, but it did … showing the hunger that existed in the American public for some way to get rid of the IRS and simplify our federal tax system; change it from one that discourages and punishes achievement, to one that rewards work and protects every families ability to provide for their own basic needs before funding our bloated and often-wasteful federal government.  Two years later Linder and I, along with now-Congressman Rob Woodall, wrote another book, “FairTax, The Truth, Answering the Critics”  This one came out as No. 2.  The public’s appetite for true and meaningful tax reform was still strong.

Concerned About the Welfare of Our People and Our Country

7th MRA

Are you concerned about the welfare of our people and our country?

Anyone that knows me is very much aware that I love this country very much…as well as the wonderful people that populate the United States of America.

In a time when the “Military Draft” was in effect I volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army and served my two year commitment as a patriot.  My sacrifice was very minimum compared to that of many soldiers that I see returning from service…having lost several limbs and in some cases their ability to function as normal human beings for the rest of their lives.

And as I think about this tragedy then I hear about some 500,000 to 900,000 returning wounded soldiers who have had pending medical claims  for months and years which are overdue in processing by the Veterans Administration.  This gets very little media publicity and government attention towards resolution. This week the Army announced that the Walter Reed Army Hospital Warrior Cafeteria would be closed on certain hours and days which would require amputees to negotiate wheelchairs approximately 1/2 mile to receive any kind of food day or night, much less the same food as they enjoy today. Fortunately, due to public outcry the Army reversed this decision on the same day. Then we have the terrorist shooting massacre under trial classified as a workplace event. Due to this government decision, the victims are not entitled to receive hospitalization, care and other benefits they would receive if the event were classified as it really is…an event of war.  When we add the tragedy of Benghazi to this list, it seems that we have a total transformation of our military happening before our eyes. The leadership of our county have the opportunity to correct all of these mistakes.

It is for reasons of loving this country and being very concerned about the real status of at least 50-60 million people who are suffering financially, job-wise, emotionally and in many other ways now…that I feel that I must speak out and express my concerns and recommendations for improvement very clearly. I am a “conservative” politically…I believe in living according to the Constitution, with minimum government and minimum federal spending, effective and legitimate social programs, a balanced budget, and protection of our country from foreign invasion….as well as from internal invasion. Many of our countries societal principles have been destroyed for a variety of reasons and our country’s future is being gradually destroyed by many special interest groups.

Since I choose not to discuss these political views on this news publication, I elected this week to introduce my second publication called “The Conservative” which you can find at www.lawattorneylegal.com. I invite you to visit me there and participate with me if that is your choice. If not, then I respect your rights to your opinion not to do so. My position is that every day I watch on TV and listen on the radio to many points of view.  By so doing I feel that I have an understanding of many sides of an issue and why people think the way that they do. I invite you to read my point of view and enter into constructive conversation if you choose.

With this information I again invite you to join me on “The Conservative” at www.lawattorneylegal.com. I enjoy this “Dan Norris Blog” very much and will continue to post frequently. Again I encourage you to leave me messages on the “Leave A Reply” section below. If you enjoy any of this material please let me hear from you.

Welcome: American Patriots Unite

United States Constitution

This blog focuses on the “Road To Financial Independence” and strategies to achieve this goal as soon as possible.  Even so as business people we believe that America is a capitalistic nation and our success is based upon freedoms to pursue and work in a free economy.

Welcome: American Patriots Unite

These freedoms have been under attack in the last several years and our opportunities to be successful are being constrained by restrictive government regulations, taxes and policy. To ignore the facts that the Federal Government is negatively influencing our economic opportunity to succeed is very naive and dishonest. As a strong believer that America should continue to be a free and open economic society I believe that this post is very important to all business people. It is time for American Patriots to speak up.

(According to the Cato Institute‘s annual index of the world’s freest economies, the U.S. is number 12. This is behind Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Switzerland, Mauritius, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Australia, Jordan, Chile and Finland.)

Many people of all political beliefs have become very concerned about the welfare and security of these United States and it’s citizens. Are you? Are you wondering what you can do?

We welcome a new blog site designed to provide good, reliable information for everyone, regardless of their political beliefs.

Are you an American Patriot? Do you believe in supporting, protecting and enforcing The United States Constitution?

If so, we recommend that you go to the new site

                         “American Patriots Unite”

And here is an email that you can copy and send to all your friends to share with them how you can help this country during the next (24) days before November 4th, 2014.

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR AMERICA NOW?

Many of you have asked me…”WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP SAVE AMERICA?: and I tell you that we have an excellent plan…we just need people like you to get out and talk to everyone that you can and get them to vote for candidates that believe in supporting the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION AND THE BILL OF RIGHTS! And you say…how can I do that?  We have worked out a plan for you as follows:
Please go now to your computer and read about how to talk to anybody, anywhere and to print two-sided cards to hand out to your friends if you can…please read these two posts below on how you can help us win this election…Here are the links…
AMERICAN PATRIOTS UNITE   at
DO YOU LOVE AMERICA?       at
Please read this as soon as possible and take the recommended actions. And please send this to all your friends and encourage them to take action!

Raising money for your business? Shout it from the rooftops. For the first time, it’s allowed. The Securities and Exchange Commission today voted four to one that it will overturn the ban on publicly advertising that your company is raising money, what’s called “general solicitation.” By voting to lift the ban on general solicitation, the Commission has essentially made it legal for private companies to tell anyone that they are raising money, which was previously illegal.

Farewell to “JOBS”… Are You Ready To Market Yourself?

Jobs Extinction

The topic of this post is…

Farewell to “JOBS”…Are You Ready To Market Yourself?

Do you believe that our entire economic job market is changing?

And there is good reason to recognize the reality and consider your options of how you could market yourself. The article below gives an excellent assessment of the current employment opportunity situation in the U.S. with both a short and long-term view. For those ready to face today’s real situation and the facts that there are no signs of it changing at least for the next three years, I am sharing many solutions with you in these posts that could be vital to your well-being, both now and in the future.

On 8/4 I posted “Blogging For My Readers” which is a sincere request for feedback from any of the 500 or so readers that visit this blog every day, thank you again, and look at an average 9 pages each, and stay an average of more than 20 minutes each…these are averages of course and not by everyone. As I state in the post above, I need to understand who my readers are, what you like to read, what you don’t like to read, what you want to read more about, and hopefully to begin some kind of dialogue with you that can benefit us all. A ship without a rudder will not get me where I want this Blog to go.

For this reason, I sincerely ask you to stop and say something in the “Leave A Reply” box at the bottom of the page. Even if you say any of the following…”I like the blog, I don’t like the blog, I just come here to kill time, I am too shy to say anything, my opinion does not count, why don’t you write about xxx, you have too many advertisements, it takes too long to read your posts, you have too many posts, you don’t have enough posts, this information is not important to me”… any constructive comment that you leave for me will be appreciated. I truly believe that very nice, interested people come here and read this blog and posts…and I am asking you to make the effort a 2-way street…if you like what you read great…and if not let me know please. I am not sure how else to ask you to give me your feedback…other than to say…call me on 407-951-7132 or email me on dannorris42@gmail.com.

As traditional jobs fade, be ready to market yourself

By Dave Maney, an entrepreneur and former journalist

Given all the attention it’s getting in Washington, D.C., millions of Americans are no doubt wondering when our economy’s job-creation machine will crank up again. Brace yourself: It isn’t likely to happen — not in the way it worked before. In fact, the economic laws that undergird the system of jobs and employment as we have known them are wobbling from the torrents of information flowing through businesses from the Internet and related information processing technologies. We’re experiencing a Great Scouring Out, as we move through a painful streamlining and restructuring of our entire economy. Sounds awful, doesn’t it? But it’s not, at least in the long term. The demand for work isn’t going away, even though millions of jobs have. The economy, more efficient than ever, will catch the wind again, providing well- equipped Americans with bountiful opportunities to make a good living.

How to Make Your Best Employees Even More Profitable

Unfortunately, some of my worst decisions involved hiring the wrong employees. That said, some of my luckiest decisions, have been hiring the right employees. A bad employee will set you back months, if not years, and a good employee will pay for themselves tenfold.

So the real question becomes: How do you get the best performance out of good employees? Some would argue you just hire the right people and get out of their way, but I would submit that’s not enough.

So How Much Cash Reserve Do You Need For An Emergency or Opportunity?

Cash Reserves
How Much Needed?

As the first post in a series of several financial recommendations…

So How Much Cash Reserve Do You Need For An Emergency or Opportunity?

In personal finance, cash reserves are primarily short-term, highly liquid investments that earn a low rate of return that individuals want to have quick access to…for purposes of  meeting short-term, emergency or opportunity funding needs. We will discuss how much is recommended, how to create your cash reserve, where it should be kept and why it is so very important to your financial well-being!

________________________________________________________________

Ameriprise Financial

Refine your cash strategy

In times of crisis, you don’t want to be shaking pennies out of a piggy bank. Having a financial safety net in place can ensure that you’re protected when a financial emergency arises. One way to accomplish this is by setting up a cash reserve, a pool of readily available funds that can help you meet emergency or highly urgent short-term needs.

Importance of Cash Reserves

James Kenney  on YouTube

_______________________________________________________________

In my humble opinion, Cash Reserves are the cornerstone of the process of effective comprehensive financial planning. In order to know how much money you should allocate on a consistent savings plan for your cash reserve, it is necessary that you develop a budget which includes all of your income,  expenses, payments, insurances, mortgage, fees…really everything that  represents money incoming and outgoing…and then you will know what you will need per month so as to then calculate how you can save for your cash reserve. If your net outgo is $4000 per month then in order to save a cash reserve equivalent to six  months of your living costs, then you will need a cash reserve of $24,000 to equal a six month cash reserve. Now that you know  how much you need you can make determinations as to where that money will need to come  from. A qualified financial advisor can be very helpful in achieving this.

Now I would like to again come back to my goal of establishing some good two-way communications between you and me.  Recently I asked that you give me  some feedback in the “Leave A Reply” section at the bottom of the page. I continue that request however let me give you a survey to choose from about those things that you may or may not like so that I  can get an  idea of what you enjoy most. What Are Your Odds Of Being Audited By The IRS?

Tony Nitti, Contributor

Dear Client,

It’s late March, so forgive me if I come off as a bit harsh, but do you know the old saying, “there are no stupid questions?”

That’s bull.

In fact, there are lots of stupid questions. This time of year, I hear them daily. For example:

No, you can’t deduct your hot tub as a medical expense because your “legs get sore.”

Nor can you deduct the amount paid to prostitutes as “sex therapy.”

And no, you can’t have your company make your bonus check out to your 6-year old son to avoid income taxes, though I admire your ingenuity.

As frustrating as these types of questions may be to field, however, I assure you they don’t annoy your tax advisor nearly as much as this one, which is asked all too often this time of year:

“If I do this on my tax return, what are my chances of being audited by the IRS?”

If you don’t have a will, a court decides who gets your assets.

A will is a device that lets you tell the world whom you want to get your assets. Die without one, and the state decides who gets what, without regard to your wishes or your heirs’ needs.

Procrastination, Rationalization and Critical Thinking In Decision Making

Critical Thinking In Decision Making

No matter what responsibility we have in life we are expected to make good decisions.   Our ability to make good, sound decisions is extremely important to the success of whatever activities in which we are involved.

Procrastination, Rationalization and Critical Thinking In Decision Making

To my surprise, with more than (200) posts that I have written for this Blog, the most popular topics read are those related to the subject of “Decision Making” and “Critical Thinking”.   I commend my readers for strong interests in these very important topics that truly affect our lives.

Just think of all of the important decisions that we have to make today and soon that will change the course of our lives, that of our family and businesses,  and this country! I can think of several decisions that are highly important in all time frames. Are we equipped and trained to make good decisions or are we just emotionally and ideologically linked to disastrous paths? The great influencers of my life always said…you are a product of your choices…and this turns out to be so true. If we allow people to manipulate our choices then we will probably suffer tremendously. So what else do we need to understand and how can we improve our critical thinking and decision-making process? Here are some more related options and influences that affect our lives…

Procrastination

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Procrastination is the practice of carrying out less urgent tasks in preference to more urgent ones, or doing more pleasurable things in place of less pleasurable ones, and thus putting off impending tasks to a later time. According to Freud, the pleasure principle may be responsible for procrastination; one may prefer to avoid negative emotions, and to delay stressful tasks. The belief that one works best under pressure provides an additional incentive to postponement of tasks.[1] Some psychologists cite such behavior as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with starting or completing any task or decision.[2] Other psychologists indicate that anxiety is just as likely to get people to start working early as late and the focus should be impulsiveness. That is, anxiety will cause people to delay only if they are impulsive.[3]

Rationalization (making excuses)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In psychology and logicrationalization (also known as making excuses[1]) is a defense mechanism in which perceived controversial behaviors or feelings are logically justified and explained in a rational or logical manner in order to avoid any true explanation, and are made consciously tolerable – or even admirable and superior – by plausible means.[2] Rationalization encourages irrational or unacceptable behavior, motives, or feelings and often involves ad hoc hypothesizing. This process ranges from fully conscious (e.g. to present an external defense against ridicule from others) to mostly subconscious (e.g. to create a block against internal feelings of guilt).

Critical Thinking

Critical Thinking

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Critical thinking is a way of deciding whether a claim is true or false. Critical thinking is a process that leads to skills that can be learned, mastered and used. Critical thinking is a tool by which one can come about reasoned conclusions based on a reasoned process. This process incorporates passion and creativity, but guides it with discipline, practicality and common sense. It can be traced in the West to ancient Greece with its Socratic method and in the East to ancient India with the Buddhist Kalama sutta and abhidharma literature. Critical thinking is an important component of many fields such as education, politics, business, science and the arts.

Decision-making

Decision making can be regarded as the cognitive process resulting in the selection of a course of action among several alternative scenarios. Every decision-making process produces a final choice.[1] The output can be an action or an opinion of choice.

Overview

Human performance in decision terms has been the subject of active research from several perspectives.

  • From a psychological perspective, it is necessary to examine individual decisions in the context of a set of needs, preferences an individual has and values they seek.
  • From a cognitive perspective, the decision-making process must be regarded as a continuous process integrated in the interaction with the environment.
  • From a normative perspective, the analysis of individual decisions is concerned with the logic of decision-making and rationality and the invariant choice it leads to.[2]

Seven Sadly Common Mistakes When Forming A New Company

Brett Nelson  - Contributor   Published 8/29/2013

Entrepreneurs face a smorgasbord of risk. Have they identified a real market need? (Strategic risk.) Are they executing effectively? (Operational risk.) Will they go broke wooing customers? (Financial risk.) Will their (likely) failure tarnish their image? (reputation risk.) But there’s another risk that threatens new companies even before they’re born: legal risk.

Steven Gladstone, a lawyer at Hall Booth Smith, headquartered in Atlanta, knows about managing legal risk. Gladstone, 65, has four decades of experience forming companies and structuring private placements, often based on the value of intellectual property. He has counseled entrepreneurs in everything from film production to real estate—and he has acute appreciation for how legal snafus can sting.

Gladstone shared seven legal mistakes that new entrepreneurs tend to make, including real-world anecdotes drawn from his own practice. Bottom line, he says: If you don’t take proper precautions, your startup may be dead on arrival.

Mistake #1:  Not getting legal assistance from the beginning.

Just one example: A potential client called me a few months ago with a big problem. Six months before consulting a lawyer, he had taken a partner in a new business. Soon enough, that fellow had eaten $100,000 of my client’s money—on trips to Singapore, designer suits and other flagrant outlays. He also refused to sign a flurry of routine but important documents, and still my client continued to make funds available to him.

Painful result: a high-dollar collection matter three states away, a nasty fraud claim, a corporate dissolution, and a nightmarish settlement negotiation. What should have cost the client $3,000 to $5,000 in legal advice at inception ballooned into a tab five times that amount to untangle a big mess. And to top it off, the venture flat-lined within the next month.

Small business: The Affordable Care Act, Part II

Mike | December 3rd, 2012

Earlier this year, I wrote a post about ways that Obamacare might help small businesses. At the time, the Supreme Court had just released it’s decision upholding most of the Affordable Care Act’s provisions and the dust was still settling on what it would all mean. Last month, President Obama won re-election, effectively removing the threat that the law would be repealed soon, and now these provisions are going into full effect, many starting in the next 12 months. Every small business person, accountant, benefits manager, and employee I have spoken with has expressed confusion, provided me questionable information, or just stared at me with a blank expression, often accompanied by a quivering lip.

The implications for small business are just beginning to come fully into focus, and these are complex but in balance are beneficial to most small businesses. The act defines a ‘small business’ as one employing fewer than 200 workers, but for this post I want to focus on the smallest of businesses – those with fewer than 25 employees and with annual revenues of under $1,000,000. This is a very specific, and huge, slice of the small business community. These businesses are almost always owner-managed, which means that they don’t have an HR person to figure it out and they may not have an accountant sophisticated enough to provide reliable answers on what the law requires.

There are a number of requirements that businesses with fewer than 25 employees need to keep in mind as we approach January of 2014 when most f the law’s provisions will have kicked in. The most important questions for these very small businesses are: 1) Am I required to provide health insurance for my employees? 2) What are my options if I do provide coverage ? and 3) When must I do something?

Recession and Your Financial Goals

Today’s post is about how we must deal with the current 5-year long recession and your financial goals…and what we can do to achieve your financial goals in the midst of this very severe economic downturn. Has this economy affected you in achieving your financial goals? It certainly has affected me. And frankly I don’t see any outside help in sight.  We are now the “regulation nation”, we have added more taxes for virtually everyone, we are seeing the suppression of truth and honesty, and as a result we have very little trust in our government.  Can we really thrive as a nation where the wealthier class supports the remainder with lenient social programs?

Can we as individuals overcome these major obstacles? It is a tremendous challenge!

Financial Independence

My answer is absolutely YES! To me the real “American Way” is when the going gets tough, the tough get going. And I am talking about individuals now…not government. What is going on with our government is frightening in terms of intrusion on our freedoms, our constitutional rights, unbridled government spending, and wastefulness. Unless we change the way that our government is being managed, I have great concerns for the long term existance of our country as a republic.

And now I come back to the individual American citizen. I have great confidence that enough of our citizens are going to stand up and fight for our freedoms until we can get this country on the right track again. We have many citizens of this country that will not accept and talk about what is real truth now. Political correctness is destroying many values in our lives. Many are so very disinterested in what is going on that even some college students do not know about current events including who is the Vice President of the U.S..   I believe that truth will win out. This is a nation founded under God’s principles and beliefs, and I pray that He will lead us in the right path.

financial independence

In the meantime as we gather hands to correct our government, I think the even more serious issue is the welfare of Americans who are struggling for financial security and independence. I submit that the only way for us to individually overcome these obstacles is for each person to take strong responsibility for their own personal financial well-being including finding a way to achieve financial independence. I believe that each person in financial need identify skills that they have and determine how to share those skills and bring value to others. This means many self-based and home-based businesses to bootstrap each of us to prosperity.

And I offer to help individuals find those opportunities where they can become successful and to teach them how to market themselves successfully. For discussion contact me on email at dannorris42@gmail.com or by phone at 407-749-9395.

Tax Reform - Can It Be Done?

The Fair Tax
Tax Reform - Can It Be Done?
Will our Legislators Do The Right Thing for American and Relinquish Their Control Over Americans?

I write this Blog post tonight with concerns and fears that  government and IRS representatives will seek me out to question my patriotism and my political preferences for expressing these opinions.  I am really embarrassed to admit this however our country is not the same as it used to be. My choices for government are smaller size rather than larger, fiscal budgeting, much less spending and more constraint, adherence to the Constitution and Laws of the land, avoidance of waste, and changing the tax code to be fair to every citizen as opposed to favoring specific sectors of the economy as it does now. The Internal Revenue Code and the Legal System give political parties in this country incredible amounts of power that can be wielded to control political opinion, businesses, and the population as a whole. We know that either party can be in power at one time or another and citizens should not fear that any government is going to penalize them for free speech. Free speech is the pillar of our democracy!

As I consider all of the possible actions that we could take to make this country a better

Justice In Our Tax System

place to live, my favorite is Tax Reform. Why? The reasons are many.

Our government controls each citizen with the current legal Internal Revenue Code. The Internal Revenue Code consists of thousands of pages of regulations and can be viewed online in its entirety at http://www.fourmilab.ch/uscode/26usc . Several thousand lobbyists, businesses, special interest groups, labor groups, individuals and others are constantly trying to accomplish changes to the IRC to benefit their causes.
Changes are accomplished through the Congress and Senate and this gives the power to members of those legislative branches.  The President approves or disapproves the laws and the Supreme Court decides the Constitutionality of those laws passed.

According to the IRS in 2008 there were a bit over 142 million individual tax returns filed. There are many estimates as to how much time it takes on average to file a return. I will not enter into that arena of guessing however I bet it averages more than 10 hours per person. There are also 1.3 million accountants employed in the business of filing tax returns. Some guesses have been made as high as a total of 6.2 billion hours go into tax preparation and filings although this is an estimate.

To me it would be much better if the government did not have any controls over it’s citizens. I always thought that the citizens should have control over the government??? Have we given up on this right? How do we get our country back? By changing our tax code for one!

For years I have followed proponents of the FAIR TAX.  I really like the idea as it would be fair to everyone who buys anything, it takes cash businesses out of the darkness, there would be no Internal Revenue Code and no filing of individual income taxes…which means a very strongly reduced IRS with limited power. How nice would that be? If you haven’t heard of this yet…I hope that you will do some reading…John Linder and Neal Boortz are the proponents of this Bill and have published several books on The Fair Tax...The Fair Tax Book: Saying Goodbye to the Income Tax and the IRS [Paperback] Neal Boortz , John Linder

The Fair Tax

The Fair Tax Act

First proposed in Congress in 1999, the Fair Tax

Act has since been re-introduced at the beginning of each new congressional session. Some of the most respected federal lawmakers have signed on to help sponsor this bill each time a new congressional session begins. Georgia’s Saxby Chambliss helped sponsor this bill in the Senate, while Georgia Rep. John Linder did so in the House. While this bill hasn’t been passed, it is gaining new sponsors every year.  Read more: The Fair Tax Act | eHow http://www.ehow.com/about_6668942_fair-tax-act.html#ixzz2VlWQCOu9

We could do our country and it’s citizens a tremendous service by understanding how a flat tax would work and to realize all the advantages that are available to us. Are you interested? Why not?

I believe the key question is whether Americans can realize the powerful advantages of The FAIR TAX and insist that our Legislators do the right things for America by passing the Bill!

Getting Started

Get Started Now!

Now let’s talk about “Getting Started“…with your new business,  or with a new blog, or a new project, or a new income stream, or a new responsibility! It can be any opportunity that is waiting for you to take action and get things underway and going!. Planning is wonderful and necessary however unnecessary procrastination is costly and destructive. Do you face a situation or opportunity where you are just very afraid to take the first step or action? Is fear holding you back? Are you afraid that you will fail? Are you afraid that you will lose money? Are you afraid that you will be embarrassed by your family or friends? Ask yourself….what is holding me back? Fear is a tremendous power over positive actions!

Go!

If you do have some fears, those can be normal however not to the extent that it will stop you from getting started. To get yourself motivated and more confident to get started…think about the results that you can achieve if you proceed right now! Obviously you have envisioned some major benefits that will be very beneficial to you…is it more income? Is it being able to work from home and staying with your loved ones? Is it to pursue a dream or a career that you have dreamed about all your life? Is it to help people do something that they currently cannot do for themselves? What I am asking you to do is to put that goal on something tangible that you can see like a photograph or a piece of paper or something that will remind you of your goal every day…preferably every hour! This will keep you motivated and energized to get started. We must think of the end results in order to start the engine, get the fuel and provisions to get you on that road to successful accomplishment! We all can use motivators to get us going as well…

I would like to share three exceptional motivational authors with you that if you read their books you will be very thrilled that you did. The first is “The Magic of Thinking Big” by Dr. David Schwartz, PhD…a book that has meant so much to my life. The second is…”The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson. The third is “How To Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie.

I was blessed by receiving a guest post from an associate last week. The post is very motivational to me and I think you will enjoy it as well…

When did you last do something outside your comfort zone to grow your business? Comfortable and safe are usually not effective for creating rapid business growth. New behaviors, especially those that play out in public for others to see, can be difficult. What if we fail?  What if we look stupid?  What if we really mess up?

Social Marketing Tactics Balance Customer Attraction, Retention

Allison Reilly    Published: April 14, 2013

Websites, blogs, and social media marketing strike the best balance between customer attraction and retention, according to an October 2012 survey from Constant Contact. In its survey of over 1,000 small businesses, the small business marketing firm also found that the tactics least effective at striking the balance were daily deals and online ads. This balance is critical as small businesses need to use their marketing dollars wisely, and if certain tactics can do both, then that’s better for the business.

What Can Make Your 2013 A Terrific Success?

SUCCESS

Happy New Year!  I sincerely hope that you had a great Holiday Season…and I wish you every success in 2013! Thank you for visiting my sites last year…that was a good beginning for me with you during the last two months of the year and I really appreciated each of you that came by to read…and especially comment and to those that took important steps to improve their lives..

And improving our lives will be my main theme and goal for 2013. If you are like me, I am so pleased that 2012 is behind us…that was a tough year for me…and I know for many of you. I congratulate you on hanging in there and being here to ring in the New Year…with hope and optimism and energy to do our very best and achieve success. With our belief and God’s continuing blessings we will thrive and good things will continue to be bestowed upon us.

This Is Where I Want To Be At The End of 2013…or somewhere like it…how about you?

So let’s get started on how to have an exceptionally successful 2013! Keep in mind that these are my opinions biased by many years of very enjoyable, fun and professional experiences accompanied by wonderful human beings!.

The first question to ask you is what would you like to happen to you or for you during 2013 so that you consider the year to be very successful? Each of us have very different lives and very different goals so therefore we need to define what would make us feel that we had a successful year on 12/31/2013. To start your thinking process about defining these goals let me ask you these several questions on which I plan to offer important, solid recommendations to help you. The list will grow during the year however right now, can you say that any of these apply to you? Here are the questions…and for us to have a meaningful dialogue…you need to be very honest with yourself as you answer…

1. .How do you feel about where you will be in your career in five years from now..in 2018?

2.  Is your current income what you would like it to be?  What do you really want to earn?

3.  Are you spending as much time with your loved ones as you or they would like?

4.  If your employer decided to cease business tomorrow do you have alternative employment…we call it a Plan B?

5.  Are you really enjoying what you are doing in your current employment?

6.  Do you have any money left over at the end of the month?

7.  Do you have a financial plan for your life? A financial advisor?

8.  Are you putting aside money for vacations, your retirement and children’s education?

9.  Do you feel financially independent now?

10. Do you choose how you invest your time or does your employer? How long does it      take for you to ride to/from your work?

11. Do you believe that if you  continue to do what you are doing you will achieve the maximum of what you want in life? It could be that you are very satisfied with your life as it is and if that is the case another post would probably interest you more.
