Women are leaving the workforce in droves in favor of being at home. Not to be a homemaker, but as job-making entrepreneurs.
By Natalie MacNeil
A quiet revolution is taking shape right now among women. Unlike the Quiet Revolution that began in the 1970s which saw women leave the home and enter the workforce in droves, women today are leaving the workforce in droves in favor of being at home. But unlike generations of women before, these women are opting to work in the home not as homemakers—but as job-making entrepreneurs.
Women have been starting businesses at a higher rate than men for the last 20 years and tend to create home-based micro (less than 5 employees) and small businesses. Women will create over half of the 9.72 million new small business jobs expected to be created by 2018 and more and more are doing this from home offices across the country. It’s a surprising statistic, especially considering that women-owned businesses only created 16 percent of total U.S. jobs that existed in 2010.
New research by the loan broker Biz2Credit reveals some bad news about women-owned businesses: They have higher operating expenses, slimmer margins and lower credit scores than male-owned firms the same age. And they have loan approval rates that are 15% to 20% lower.

Biz2Credit studied 14,000 businesses that sought funding through its online platform. Women make up about 29% of applicants on Biz2Credit.
Some of the differences are significant. The women-owned firms had 15% lower annual revenue, and operating expenses that are 21% higher.
These findings may not reflect all women-owned firms–after all, businesses seeking credit may need it because they have cash-flow problems–but they should not be ignored.
What explains the results? Rohit Arora, CEO of Biz2Credit, says that in his experience, many women business owners start out borrowing for their businesses on personal credit cards, instead of establishing credit in the name of their businesses. Result: They fail to build a great credit score for the business.
That has long-term consequences. If they later apply for a loan, their lower credit scores put them in a weaker position. Those who get loans may qualify for less-attractive interest rates. ”Banks are gender-blind, to a large extent,” he says.
It’s possible that someone in Kentucky has been buying stuff with John Roberts’s credit card.
The Supreme Court’s chief justice has been traipsing around Washington, D.C., bemoaning to metro-area counter-workers that his credit-card info has been stolen, and that he now has to use cash.
First, it was a Starbucks barista, where Roberts stopped for coffee in suburban Maryland on Tuesday, before he heard arguments on California’s Prop. 8 gay-marriage ban. Roberts typically uses a card, but a Starbucks employee told The Washington Post that Roberts, this time mentioned the apparent identity theft, after paying cash….
No one is safe from identity theft — not even John Roberts, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
On the morning that the Supreme Court was scheduled to hear arguments about gay marriage, Roberts was overheard telling a barista at his local Starbucks that he would have to pay cash for his coffee, as his credit card information had been stolen. The Associated Press spoke to a Supreme Court spokesperson, who confirmed that someone got hold of one of the Chief Justice’s credit card account numbers. Apparently that meant that Roberts had to use cash while he waited for a new card from the bank.
Supreme Court Justices: They’re just like us!
Roberts isn’t the first high-profile Washington figure to become the victim of identity theft lately — earlier this month, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and the director of the FBI all had their credit reports stolen and posted to a Russian website. Celebrities including Beyonce Knowles were also affected……
It is important that Americans understand how to deal with identity theft issues most effectively. It is very important to have as many of your key identification numbers monitored for activity as possible. You need to know as quickly as possible if your and that of your spouse…and especially your children…is being violated. Then you need to have the assurance of professional investigators, who understand the ways of correcting your problems, take charge of restoring your identity as quickly as possible. Be very cautious of any identity theft program that requires that you restore your own identity, no matter how much reimbursement, as restoration can take years even if you know what you are doing.
12 million people were victims of identity theft in 2012. Don’t wait until it happens to you. Get Peace of Mind today. Get protection before the event can happen and you are covered for restoration. Restoration coverage after it happens is a different situation. Be prepared for identity theft!

Most people know Florida as the home of Disney World, sandy beaches and senior citizens enjoying their retirement. But Florida has another, more unsavory distinction: It’s the state where you’re most likely to get scammed.
Florida has the highest rate of fraud and identity theft complaints per capita, according to the Federal Trade Commission’s 2012 report of annual complaints. And you’re at risk of getting your identity stolen almost anywhere in the state, nine out of the top 10 metropolitan areas for identity theft complaints are in Florida, the report found.
The situation is especially bad in South Florida, which has been the nation’s identity theft leader since 2010, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. The number of identity theft complaints more than doubled in the region between 2011 and 2012.
Are you attracted to those you love? Your partner? Your mate? Your children?
Are you attracted to your friends?…Your family members?…Your
Are you attracted to your groups, schools, organizations, animals?
Are you attracted to anybody? Are you attracted to anything? Everybody? Everything?
This exercise is to motivate you to think about the magnetism of attraction and to ask yourself why if you are or not attracted to someone or some thing.
What is very obvious is that we are attracted to some people, beings, things, and so on while not being attracted to others. And in many cases it is difficult to explain our feelings.
Yes, the Law of Attraction applies in essentially everything we do!
And another important element to recognize is that we have “relationships” with most of those to whom we are attracted. Therefore the question, does being attracted to someone or something mean that it is easier to begin a relationship with that person? It certainly seems that the answer is yes. Then reading Dale Carnegie’s great book on “How To Win Friends and Influence People” is certainly important to our development right?
So now, let’s apply the “Law of Attraction” to marketing our products and services so as to generate profit ok!
If you were marketing a product or service and If you were to try to get all of your family members, relatives, friends, email contacts, meetup contacts, and those you see in the mall… and so on to buy what you are marketing, I bet you would experience a lot of frustration. The reason is that some may not be looking to buy what you are selling! And so then you make a warm market list of all the people who you know….probably 300-500 contacts usually…and you approach them as well with your products and services…how does this work out for you?
For some it could be very well however for most it becomes a very challenging investment of time…writing the list, making phone calls and making contacts with each person, meeting with them….and if you have been successful with more than 3% you are exceptional! I call this approach “harassment marketing”…taking advantage of your relationship or incidental contact with someone to ask them to do something or buy something that they do not like or have no interest.
Now let’s try another approach called the “Law of Attraction”! For more than 100 years this phenomenon has been studied, books have been written, movies made, however it is yet to become an exact science as is mathematics, physics, chemistry and the like. What this is to me is a nebulous concept that truly works. I look at the practicality of attraction….and that is virtually why I do everything that I do. I am attracted to this person, or this concept, or this opportunity, or this idea…you name it.
Are you this way as well?
As I search for information on Attraction Marketing I find a considerable amount from creditable people….particularly the movie made in 2006 called “THE SECRET” and available in full on YouTube. Personally I enjoy two more examples of Attraction Marketing…the first is a 1989 movie called “FIELD OF DREAMS” in which the concept of “build it and they will come” became a national treasure concept about baseball.
I also think about Steve Jobs with Apple Computer, who I think was a genius of technology and attraction marketing. Look what he did to attract buyers who loved his products..not just a brand…but usable, friendly products, because people liked them!…and then how about the social media concept of “liking”.
I am beginning an in-depth study of the Law of Attraction…motivated recently by meeting a very intelligent marketing professional by the name of Ann Sieg…who is teaching me and many others her concepts of Attraction Marketing. I am intrigued as this lady with 19 years of marketing experience has now trained some 350,000 people on Attraction Marketing and is considered the industry expert on the subject by many.
I am very impressed with the thoroughness of her detailed, professional, non-hype, very affordable training programs and the community of some 500+ people who are proceeding through the comprehensive training programs as I am. Even with nine years of college in my early years including a degree in marketing, and many more years of real business experience across the U.S., I am excited to listen and learn from all that is being presented. I highly recommend this program to anyone who is thinking about being successful in marketing, no matter what your business or situation. This information could help make you much more successful in whatever business or opportunity you are in…and also possibly help you become a more fun person to be with as well. I think we all would like to be considered likable and attractive!
Let me introduce you to my mentor on Attraction Marketing, Ann Sieg…
Three of the most effective and powerful sources of information developed and published by Ann Sieg can be found at the following links…
I encourage you to take advantage of these excellent tools developed by Ann over many years of trial and error…and then she achieved excellent earnings following these early years of frustration. For me these documents were so exciting that I focused on them for several days in order to get Ann’s initial recommendations implemented as rapidly as I could. Many others have felt the same way. And the learning curve goes on and on.
Start now on The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing:
If you attempted to read my blog from Wednesday evening and Thursday until 10:00 pm in all likelihood you saw an error message and were unable to access the site for viewing. If you did try and were unsuccessful I sincerely apologize to you for any inconvenience. For (28) hours I agonized over the fact that a software malfunction had caused the entire site to disappear…and I was very concerned about the accessibility of all the post data created since October 2012 with this blog and some (75) posts.
I am pleased to report that all is well now…and I was blessed with the assistance of a highly competent lady in Ontario, Canada who read about my plight on Facebook around 9:30 pm last night and in less than (15) minutes had solved the problem and saved all of my data. For this reason this blog is dedicated to Lorraine McNulty today…a very willing and competent, experienced professional on blogs, WordPress (a very popular blogging platform), and how to examine and correct errors in code of application programs. In this case there was a plugin that was supposed to map my site and there was code that needed correction. Lorraine was very capable and knowledgeable in this area and within minutes she had corrected the coding issues. In return for her kindness I want to give major kudos to Lorraine and to share her businesses below with my readers…as she may very well be able to render assistance to you in some ways.
Lorraine McNulty is a member of Ann Sieg’s Renegade Facebook Team made up of more than (900) people who are learning, implementing, and training others on the subjects of “Attraction Marketing”, Blogging, Copywriting, SEO and virtually all facets of internet marketing. To me this is a vast resource of talent that is available to all conscientious internet marketers and is one of my favorite resources to recommend to anyone in internet marketing. You may enjoy one of Ann Sieg’s free publications below. You can find more free publications in several posts in this blog under the Attraction Marketing tab.
My sincere thanks go out to Lorraine for her assisting me in several ways over the last few days…to significantly improve my blogging technique and skills. Knowing how to blog is a real art and Lorraine is giving me tremendous insight into the blogging industry. In return for her assistance I would like to share her contact information with you as follows.
Many small businesses are looking to maximize their internet traffic as soon as they have published new media…such as blogs. Rapid website indexing is usually very important. So would you like for Google to index your website quickly?
Netchunk Webmaster and Blogging Tips below shares with you great tips as to how you can get your new postings “indexed” as soon as possible. Simple to do however if you did not know this you could be waiting for days for the indexing to occur.
Now that you are finally satisfied with the website theme and that all the widgets and plugins are in place, it’s time to introduce your website to the world. If you do not have any such experience prior to this, then allow me to assure you that it’s not something that will happen overnight. At least not unless you do something about it.
With so many websites (new and existing) screaming “Find Me”, how do you stand out from them when it comes to getting search engines like Google to notice your website? Fortunately, there are some things that you can do to quicken Googlebot’s crawl.
